Although there is a call to prayer at 5:00 AM in Udaipur, I managed to sleep right through it. I woke up around 8:00 and fell back asleep until about 1:00. I am so confused about time right now.
I scoured Google for where I would be headed for breakfast and settled on Jasmine Restaurant on the other side of Lake Pichola.
When I got there, I was surprised there was zero forms of cold coffee on the menu. Did I not look at this before I arrived?
Breakfast was a coffee shake, more like a milkshake. And a chocolate banana crepe. Nothing like pure sugar for breakfast.
After eating, I was walking towards an ATM and stumbled on a vegan cafe and got an iced latte there. It was the best one I have had since arriving in India.
Here is their menu if you are looking for vegan food in Udaipur.
Random Udaipur:
I got cash out of the ATM and then went back to do my usual stocking up of water and feeding my dogs. We made progress yesterday with them not starting to wince when I pet them. Today they all came running towards me when they saw me. I will be sad to leave them but I will just have to fall in love with other dogs as I continue my travels.
This is my favorite dog. He gives kisses, so sweet.
This old lady is trying to usurp his spot as my favorite dog. She is so sweet. She keeps asking for belly rubs and her tail wags the entire time I rub her belly.
Because I left my room much later than normal today, I also got back much later. I only had 90 minutes before work. I was actually able to fall asleep when attempting a nap. Figures this happens when I have the least amount of time.
I am looking so forward to tomorrow when I am free the whole entire day. No working after going out. Not having to check the time ever. I am going to ride a cable car to a temple on top of a mountain. I am going to be fearful of my life ending the entire way. I am petrified of cable cars, but can never resist them.
Today I have to figure out how I am getting to Jaipur on Sunday. I know I am overpaying for a driver. I have a tour planned Monday morning before work so I can’t take any chances of a bus or train delaying my arrival and not getting all my sleep in before the tour. I just cannot decide if I want to stop in Pushkar on my way (I do) or just put that off for later in life when I can actually enjoy the city (I also do.)
Cars cannot drive down the street my hotel is on. So I will have to meet the driver over where the driver from the airport to my hotel dropped me off. I should probably work on finishing one of the books I bought (WHY DID I BUY BOOKS) so my backpack weighs a bit less.
I am currently typing this out on the roof of my hotel. Although I have the balcony in my room to myself, the table on my balcony is lower than the chair which makes it difficult to write. Up here the table is where it should be in order to type on a laptop. I only had 2 work meetings today and they are over so I could stay up here all night. This is my current view, which I have posted at various times of day now. It is so beautiful it warrants the amount of photos I have taken.
When I sit by myself and stare out at the beauty that is Udaipur, I can just picture retirement so vividly. Spending a month in a beautiful place, ordering iced lattes from every restaurant ever. Drinking it while looking out at the world around me and soaking in how beautiful it is.
I just fucking love traveling so much.
You have such incredible views!
Those doggies make me sad..,,
