Good morning Las Vegas!

I have decided to not gamble today except for the $50 freeplay I have at Palms.  I am moving to California tonight.  I am getting texts and emails to do mobile check in but it never works so why bother even trying.

I am staying at California on a Lucky Duck promotion.  It is an event that takes place on Friday.  I guarantee you that when they hand me the paper showing me what time the event is, it will be during a work meeting I cannot miss.  I think I won $100 freeplay the last time I did the Lucky Duck promotion.  If I am remembering that trip correctly, it was also the day the fire alarm kept going off at Fremont hotel during work meetings so I just logged off and never came back.  Unfortunately, I cannot do that this time.

I logged onto my Boyd account to see the result of yesterday’s 10x points and found this surprise offer.  I had it last year too.  I wonder if I have had it many years and just never noticed it.
I made a reservation for Hash House a Go Go to use up the rest of my resort credit.  It is really the only sit down restaurant open during the day.  I wish it were open when I log off work because I feel stressed going for a sit down meal during work. I have a very insane job which is most insane in December and January.  And the rest of the year too I guess.  I just might feel it more in December and January since I am in Vegas.  I also switched regions at work so I am involved in wrapping up the year in one region, and also with the new one.  So all my meetings are doubled.

Before I check out of Rio today, I want to collect my free tickets for Wow and Penn & Teller.  Both shows are dark during this stay so I have to come back.  I need to figure out what days I want to go.  I am thinking when I am at Wynn since I am burning Wynn.  It would be ideal if I could go to both shows on the same day to save me from having to travel back to Rio twice.  Maybe I could also combine it with Palms freeplay and dining credit.  Look at me multi tasking!  My  job would be proud.

My daily itinerary is always completed before I leave home and it is printed.   On this trip I have found myself adjusting it live as I find things to add like random Palms freeplay and now the Boyd freeplay and the show tickets. I kind of feel like I am cheating and yet no one cares so why do I.

Pro-tip: If you go to the Rio kiosk, you can see your resort credit balance.  I went shopping at Starbucks and left behind $1.

After work, I went over to Palms for $50 free play and it turned out I had $70 and also a free watch?

I was shocked to lose the $70 without ever winning anything.  Not sure why, since isn’t that how it always goes?

Back to my room to finish packing bafore claiming my free tickets to Penn & Teller and WoW.  The box office opens at 4:00.  When I did go, I was surprised at how many seats were open presuming everyone has free tickets.  Score for me though!

I found a nickel on heads when walking back to my room and put it in my bra.

I got an Uber to California.  God I love this hotel. I was smiling at it like a crazy person as soon as it got into sight.  I only wish I could still smoke in my room!  I do not know at all how many days during Covid I worked from California, chain smoking while working.  But it is very likely over 30.

I was given a room by the elevator by request so I can sneak out easier.

I claimed my number for the Lucky Duck promotion on Friday and was pleasantly surprised it starts at 4:00.  Normally it is during the day.   I don’t have to miss it for work. She also confirmed my offer didn’t come with food credit, it normally does for special promotions.  Fuck you Boyd.  But just kidding, I still love you.

I decided to not play at California and to instead, use my freeplay at Circa and Binions.  Circa sucked but hoo boy Binions did not.  This was a FREE PLAY WIN.

I decided to play down to $800 and holy shit it did it again

Binions also has ads for this on their machines.  This is kind of tacky and preys on gambling addicts. You can use this company to bypass ATM limits, I am sure at an insane cost.

I came so close to getting out of Binions without playing my Buffalo machine but caved and lost $100.  I told her I would not be back if she did not give me a bonus and she didn’t so fuck her.

Over to California to the machine that once dealt me Aces with a Kicker.  She was kind of okay.

I played for awhile on her and then crawled to bed, assuming from my level of exhaustion that it was very late.  It wasn’t.  It was 7:10.  Time is so fucking weird to me when working from Vegas.
