Las Vegas: No I Am Not Working Today

If you somehow ended up here and would like to start at the beginning, you can go HERE.

Good morning Las Vegas!  I wake up at Harrahs at 10:30 and feel all panicked that I am incredibly late for work. I grab my laptop, I am sweating, oh fuck I am going to get fired. OH FUCK I took today off.  YAY.  I am not fired AND I am free from work!

Morning room view:

I had an email from vegas.com telling me that Mac King is not performing on the one date I have a ticket to see him.  Would I like to reschedule for a different date?  Sure!  I ask them to reschedule for 12/29.  Shortly after, I get a call and actually answer it and it is vegas.com!  The nice woman wanted to make sure I didn’t book the wrong date since she can see my account and my tickets are spread out over an unusual length of time.  Yes, I am here 25 days.  Thank you so much for checking because I am truly an idiot.  See the time I booked not one, but two hotels for the wrong dates and didn’t find out until I tried to check in.

I am out at 12.  First stop is Starbucks, line is a million years long.  Harrahs has 2 Starbucks and both have insane lines.

I played my $101 on live Keno. 100 for fun, one for good luck using the dollar bill I found on the floor in Las Vegas, New Mexico early this year.

Then I played Buffalo, where I lost $220.   Over to Casino Royale, where their Buffalo slots actually like me. A lot.

I wanted to play some other Buffalo machine but a thing that happens to me frustratingly often happened.  I see a machine I want to play.  There is no ashtray  I go to find one and now there is someone at my machine.  This happens so often and I get annoyed and give up.

I stop at Walgreens, which I meant to do last night but forgot because Gamblor.

I grab breakfast on my way back to my room.  I am tempted to order the triVple berry smoothie.
I am in the room at noon.  I watch Keno on my television and my numbers keep not coming up.  Time for a nap.

My mind frame now that I am here, is so different than what I was expecting.  I am sure it is because despite being off today, I am not on vacation and have to work on Monday.

Before I got here, I pictured myself getting up every morning – showering, going outside.   Breathing in that gorgeous desert Winter air.  Walking around outside.  Being in Vegas.  It is only day one, but I can see myself in sloth mode where I crawl out of bed, gamble, eat, back to nap, before gambling before going to bed at night. Daylight?  Oh that’s just something I see out of the window in my room.  IF I open the blinds.  Spoiler alert:  I rarely do.

I stayed in the room until it was time to go search for the Tape Face theater. I found it and then lost $300 on Buffalo in record time before going to the show.  When entering, I got “upgraded” to a better seat.  Not sure if it was better since I had to turn my next to the left to watch, but at least there was no one right next to me.

The show was good.  The funniest part was not Tape Face himself, but a guy that got called up on stage and did an attempt at a pelvic thrust that made me want to hug his wife to console her for never having decent sex in her life.

This show was pretty funny.  I would likely go and see it again.  I might skip the part where I lose $300 on my way to the theater though.

I played around a bit after the show, all in Harrahs.  Here is my one win.

I got back to the room at 9:43 and somehow had the thought that instead of losing more money, I could start on my trip report.  So I did.  You’re welcome (I say as I actually don’t post it for another ten months.)

One thing that should have been obvious to me and was not – Harrahs Live Keno is only from noon – 8:00 PM.  I somehow didn’t consider that I would not be able to watch it in my room past 8:00 if the games were not going live in the casino.  Oh well.
