This morning I wake up at Luxor Las Vegas to begin my first full day of this trip. It is 5:00 am.
Normally, I would smoke a cigarette and go back to bed, but there are no smoking rooms here so I have to get dressed and go downstairs. I hate this. I force myself to shower first, so that I get down there when Starbucks is open at least, since we all know I am not going to just smoke and come back up without gambling.
I lost $100 on Supertimes Pay and $100 on Buffalo. For crissakes. Is the sun even out yet? I did hit this though:
Breakfast is at Pyramid Cafe, using the dining credit that came with my room.
It is 7:37 am.
I have no idea why, but the next word in my notebook is “blog” which is hysterical because I certainly did not blog. I am typing this up on December 13, trying to rush through it so I can get it done before I leave again in ten days.
I was able to “check in” to Ballys on my phone, which is bullshit. When you check into MLife properties on your phone, you are fully checked in, including the issuing of a digital key. No need to stop at the front desk.
When you check in online to a CET property, it does nothing because you have to go through the whole entire thing all over again when you get there. I did check in on my phone so I would know when my room was ready. It was ready early so I went to Ballys early.
I get there and have to check in, even though I already fucking checked in. It asks for my credit card. I swipe, it keeps telling me it is the wrong card. I call an employee over and she tells me that is not the card I swiped with. It is the only card in my hand? What?
She sets me up and I am free to go to my room, which is 1635. Oh hey, all the way at the end of the hallway. Walking, walking, walking….never getting there….walk some more. Finally I reach the end and where the fuck is my room. MOTHER. FUCKER. I walked down the wrong hallway. This is not the first time I have done this. So I turn around and walk alllllllllll the way back and find my room is the first door down the correct hallway. Yeargh.
I booked a smoking room. There is no ashtray and this sign is on the back of the door:
I call the front desk and they assure me this is a smoking room. Well okay then..
There was plastic on the smoke detector for some reason?
And the room:
I go back downstairs to use the free play that came with my offer and it is not on my card. I go to the Total Rewards desk, they don’t see the offer. This is the third time this has happened. The first time I Iet it go. The second time, they offered to have a host call me and fix it. This time they offer a host can text me. Cool. Host of course calls me rather than texts me and I miss the call while ordered lunch at Sbaros. Because yes, I am eating lunch at a chain pizza place on vacation in Las Vegas. Fun fact: Sbarros was originally a deli, not a pizza place. The first Sbarros was one block from my apartment and it remained a deli. It closed about a decade ago and is now a hot pot restaurant.
What was I talking about?
Oh yes, the free play. I play phone tag with the host and she finds the offer and puts it on my card. I don’t have a host, this was just a random host on duty. I am obviously booking these wrong.
I walked over to Ellis Island and got this photo for the millionth time.
At Ellis Island I redeemed coupons for $20 in free play and got a free t-shirt. I could not find an ashtray anywhere and noticed no one was smoking AND I had seen a group of people outside smoking when I walked in. I pulled out my phone to ask Google if Ellis Island was now a nonsmoking casino. Google didn’t seem to think so. Then I finally found an ashtray.
I lost my free play and a $100 bill as a bonus. Ugh. Walked back to Ballys and stopped in my room. I went out with $100 and my $30 free play, which was now showing up.
I got my $100 up to $394 but played down to $225 because I am a degenerate loser.
I walked to Walgreens to get some food for the room as I am working tomorrow and won’t have time to go out and get anything.
Back to a different Buffalo slot machine and got all kinds of crazy wins.
I went back up to my room with $700. WAHOOOOOOO.
I decided it was best for me to not go back out. It was only 7:00 but I have to be “at” work at 6:00 am Vegas time + I am a degenerate. I ended up eating tomorrow’s Walgreens lunch for dinner. Oh well.
