My name is Jennifer and I am living in Brooklyn, New York. I may or may not be having a midlife crisis. I most certainly am the right age for one. At least I hope I am, because then I will live until I am 82, which will be the highest number ever reached by any relative I have had.
I am at the start of a long mission to visit as many countries as I can before I die. I got my first passport stamp at the ripe old age of 39, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
The name of my blog comes from a song by the greatest band ever, named Blacklisted. The song is called “Tourist” and it is about being on tour so often that you feel like a tourist when you go back home. Everyone at home grows into adulthood, while your home life is left on a shelf gathering dust as you go out and see the world. It is what I want. Except the going home part. I never want to go home. I am working on taking a Round the World trip and in a few years, I will be homeless and happy.
I travel solo for the most part, unless you count my cute little stuffed dog as a travel partner. I most certainly do. He is great company and never annoys me. Here he is in Las Vegas, wearing his lucky hat. No, I am not crazy.
Despite the fact that I have a full time job, I am able to travel a lot. My job’s vacation policy is a dream. This makes me able to take six weeks at one time, which makes traveling a lot cheaper since I can see many places while only paying for one overseas flight.
My biggest life’s problem is that I am trying to save for a Round the World trip, which is difficult to do when instead of saving huge chunks, I keep purchasing flights. It is a pretty cool life.
Interesting blog. Going to take a lengthier peek around. And, for the record, “fuck” doesn’t offend me. ;P
Well in that case, welcome to my fucking blog! 🙂
Jen- I remember you from long ago -on LV boards and AC boards -always loved your trip reports and your humorous details.. Glad to see/read you are still traveling here, there and everywhere!
I am Nancy
Hi Nancy! I remember you too. I hope all is well.
Congratulations Jennifer! I don’t think its ever too late to start traveling! Looking forward to reading more on your blog!
Thank you so much! 🙂
Hi Jennifer, love your fucking blog and your sense of humor. 🙂
FUCK YES! Thanks Nina! 🙂
Hi Jennifer,
I too use to read your posts on the LVA. I really looked forward to you writing them. I haven’t been to Vegas for the past 2 years and so I wanted to read some trip posts and I was looking for yours and I was led to this website. I am very glad that you are doing this website blogging thingy. Thank you very much! I am not interested in going to China but maybe reading about your trip will inspire me! I have been to India 7 or so times for my meditation practices but no longer go there either. I guess staying home here on Oahu is good enough for now…
Keep up your great writing and I can live vicariously though you, thank you very much! 🙂
Aloha,
Valerie 🙂
Hi Valerie!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I am strongly considering India for my big trip in 2015. But I need to put doing actual research on hold until I finish with this years’ trips.
I have never been to Oahu, but I do know it’s paradise there. No wonder you are content to stay! 🙂
Thanks again!
(also, I did censor your last name for you)
Will you also visit South East Asia? If you have a plan to visit Yogyakarta, Indonesia, I’ll be glad to get you around 🙂
I am not on this trip, but it is on my list for the future. I cannot think of anything I would enjoy more than having the world’s cutest teddy bear be my tour guide 🙂
Alex and I love your blog so much that we have nominated you for a Liebster Award! Check it out on our page at http://inpursuitofadventureblog.wordpress.com/2014/06/01/we-have-been-nominated-for-the-liebster-award-twice/
Oh wow, you guys! This has made me very happy! THANK YOU
Continue your great blogs. Enjoying your adventures!
Never to late to start traveling or doing almost anything in my book. Oh, and don’t worry about offending folks with a fuck here and there; we all think it so somebody has to say it 🙂
Thanks Tim! I am happy to say it for everyone.
Hi Jennifer. I remember you from the LVA FFA forum. I enjoyed your trip reports, posts and your back ‘n’ forth comments with Karen TN. Glad to see you doing well and I love your blog. Best wishes always, good luck and God Bless !
Thanks Bill! You will be glad to know that I am going to Vegas in 81 days and Karen not only is not going to Vegas in 81 days, she has no trips planned at all! I win!
Fabulous. Keep traveling to discover and experience new traditions, culture and all. Way to go, Jennifer!
Thanks Jolma!
I really enjoy reading your blog. I found this a couple weeks of months ago when you posted on the LV forum on trip advisor. I love LV and go 5 to 6 times a year (from Chicago). Besides LV I hate all other trips/destinations. So we’re quite opposite in this area I still enjoy your blog.
Thanks so much Scott!
WOW! Love your blog & trip reports! I will be going to Vegas Oct. 1 -4 and can’t wait!! Keep the reports coming : )
Thanks so much Carrie! I wish you the best of luck in Las Vegas.
Just came across this website a couple of weeks ago, love the LV trip reports!
Thanks so much Saulaco!
Okay i read all the reports lol when will you be adding more and when will you be completing 2015? Im taking trip #3 of the year in a couple of weeks and staying at the Downtown Grand… your trip reports have inspired my inner Gamblor to come out in full force!
Thanks so much for the kind words. Hopefully your inner Gamblor is luckier than mine! I did finish the 2015 report a while ago. Oh wait, I didn’t finish the Altantic City one. I should get to that. I am a terrible blogger.
Really? I only see December 23-29 2015. Im not the brightest crayon in the box so I could be missing something.
Where exactly are you looking? I just realized I never updated the Las Vegas tab – because I am also not the brightest crayon in the box – I just did that right now so there are all in there.
Awesome! I was looking in the LV Trip Reports tab. Thanks for updating… now i have a few hours to waste at work!
I got my first passport stamp last year at the age of 57. Got tickets to go to London and Sweden for next September. Have you ever visited or consider visiting Estonia? Thinking about it, as I have relatives in Helsinki, that I think would go with me and have been there numerous times.
I would love to go to Estonia! I have planned it out a couple of times but as my plans are constantly changing, I haven’t actually made it. You should definitely go!
Your blog is inspiring and insightful. I came across your adventures while researching Dege and Garze town which I plan to visit soon. Thanks for sharing.
I am a Vegas degenerate too! I love it there… I dream of retiring there one day. I have enjoyed your trip reports… I “think” I am caught up on all of the Vegas ones… I loved seeing some of the OLD Vegas pics. I had a bunch on digital from my 2002, 2006. 2007, and 2008 trips, but my computer crashed and I lost them all. so sad – 2008 was my last trip until Thanksgiving 2017. I was shocked at how much Vegas changed in 9 years. I am planning another trip in Sept of this year. So excited.
I have a lot of old photos burned onto CD’s! Technology has changed so fast that I no longer own anything to upload them from. NINE YEARS is a lifetime! I am glad you are going again soon though, I hope you have the best time.
