Monday, December 22, 2008 – Day Eleven of Twenty One

I am up at 9:00 and there is more whining about my trip being more than half over.

The Golden Gate is one of the few hotels left that gives you a free daily newspaper. USA Today. Did I mention that I really like this hotel?

I get breakfast and do some playing. Reel Rich Devil gives me nothing, as does Crystal Forest. Hitchcock however, gives me an $81.90 bonus. I love this game.

Sunday, December 21, 2008 – Day Ten of Twenty One

My trip is now half over. More whining about this in my notes.

I am up at the Riviera at 7:30. I go out to lose my $55 left over from last night. I put in and win:

Invaders From the Planet Moolah = $0
White Orchard = $20
Monopoly = $40

I don’t stop playing even though I think I am going to. I lose more in Invaders From the Planet Moolah and more in a Frog Princess slot machine. On my way back to my room i get a muffin and and a Diet Pepsi.

Saturday, December 20, 2008 – Day Nine of Twenty One

Today I wake up at the Riviera.  AGAIN my notes start off with me whining about how my trip is going too fast. It really is.  Even with the nights I am losing and run to my room to hide, it’s still going sooooooooo fast.

I manage to sleep in today, until 10:00.  I get dressed and I’m out at 11:00, with plans for breakfast and only using the extra $40 I have from last night.

Friday, December 19, 2008 – Day Eight of Twenty One

I wake up at the El Cortez. Again my notes start off with me whining about my trip being almost half over. I am also mad at myself because tomorrow is supposed to start my $170/day budget, but I’ve gone so far into the future that I’m now down to about $130/day.

Today I am up at 9:00. First day of the trip I have woken up to an alarm clock, first day of the trip I have sort of slept in.

I head over to McDonalds for breakfast (Seriously, yes. Seriously, suck it)

After eating, I then come back and do the El Cortez daily free slot tournament. I get nothing. I go back upstairs and pack and whatever and I find my shirt that I nearly cried over losing last night. Eeeeeeee! Now if only I could find the metaphorical shirt I seem to have lost in every slot machine I have sat down at.

Thursday, December 18, 2008 – Day Seven of Twenty One

My notes start off with me whining that my trip is “almost over” and I’m very upset. Mind you, at this point, I have fourteen days left.

I am up at 6:00 am at the El Cortez. Showered, dress and out at 7:30. I eat breakfast at Cafe Cortez. I love this place because they give you an entire pot of coffee, even if you are solo.

Wednesday, December 17, 2008 – Day Six of Twenty One

My first thought of the day is “I can’t believe my trip is going so fast. Only 15 days left.” ONLY fifteen days left.  Yep, I wrote it.  And I meant it.

I am up at six, starting my morning at the El Cortez.  I turned on the news to see the weather and again they are yammering about snow. Yeah sure, just like the other day when you made a big deal about it and we got NOTHING, eh?

December 16, 2008: Day Five of Twenty One

I’m up at 5:30 am. Why. I go out and lose today’s budget before 9:00 am. Sigh, I hate days like this.

I retreat back to my room and nap until check out time. Check out of the California and into the El Cortez.  The check-in-ling comments on how tired I look.  What can I say?  It’s exhausting being a degenerate gambler. I get room 902 and my view is of workers working on the new Cabana Suites.

December 15, 2008: Day Four of Twenty One

Wide awake at 5:30 am. So much for sleeping in.  I watched the news and they say it might SNOW today. Wooooooooo. I also saw the local news report that Treasure Island was sold to Phil Ruffin. That’s pretty exciting. I leave for the morning with TEN BUCKS. That’s all I have left. I lose it and hit the ATM and then lose $30.  Why the hell not.

Sunday, December 14, 2008 – Day Three of Twenty One

I’m up at 4:00 am – not on purpose. But since I AM up, I start getting all panicky. I have an appointment at the Palms spa to use my 50% off coupon from the Las Vegas Advisor.  I’m all freaked out about getting there on time. See, this is why I don’t do well with having plans that revolve around a clock in Las Vegas. It is 4:00 am and I’m having a near breakdown because I don’t think I have enough time to do all the things I want to do before getting to the Palms by 3:00.  Mind  you, the only things I have to do before arriving at the Palms in ELEVEN HOURS are  (a) eating breakfast (b) eating lunch.  Sigh.

Saturday, December 13, 2008 – Day Two of Twenty One

I wake up at the California hotel.  My big plan of sleeping in is foiled by the light pouring in from the window shutters. Noooooooo. I’ve read people complain about how Main Street Station and the California have shutters instead of curtains and the light pours in. I never understood it, who goes to Las Vegas to sleep? But now I’m TRYING TO SLEEP and the light wakes me up. I’ll get over it.
