Welcome to part 5 of this Las Vegas trip report! If you are lost and want to start at the beginning, go HERE.
Day 5 in Las Vegas. More importantly, day OFF in Las Vegas. No work for me! I am up at 8:30 and a happy to be free.
I slowly go about getting ready. I am starving but I am out of reward credits. I don’t want to pay for food so I just get iced coffee to hold me over until I move Downtown today.
I put 5 $100 bills in Buffalo and leave with $500.
I put $300 in Cleopatra Keno and leave with $300.
Whew, I escaped going degenrate on those stupid fucking Buffalo machines.
Until of course, I am ready to go and stop by on my way out. I went nuts. I have no idea how much money I lost, I could not stop myself and I could not get a bonus. I finally quit when the woman next to me got a 5 coin bonus and I didn’t want to see how much she won.
I took an Uber to Fremont. I liked my driver a lot, and that doesn’t happen often. We talked all about Vegas hotels and casinos, which is a popular topic. But for some reason, this was extra pleasant. When I walked into Fremont, I was greeted with “Welcome back!” from the woman who had checked me in on my last trip. YAY.
I get 1032, which faces Ogden. I have never had this view of Ogden before:
Later in the trip, I took this photo and it seems this room view is rare and only three rooms have it:
The room is smaller than usual. It also has a doorbell, which I was scared to ring but had to. When I did, all these strobe lights went off and I realized this must be a room designed for a deaf person.
Some more room photos:
Over to Binions for Buffalo Legends. I love this machine.
California up next, Mooooooooolah.
Dinner tonight is at Redwood Grill. I have been meaning to come here for years. The reviews are excellent. I had enough dining credit with my offer to cover the whole bill. I am excited yay!
Well I did not have the amazing experience everyone else did. I know it was just a one off, but I am sorry I had to be the one off. It was difficult to eat the steak, it was a horrible cut. The baked potato was great though.
I am not allowed to play dollar video poker anywhere, but I am most especially never allowed to play it at California. So I played it anyway because fuck you, you can’t tell me what to do. You’re not my real mom.
I actually can’t help it when the royal goes over $7k but then I just lose and lose and lose. See: tonight for reference.
Binions – I had $40 free play so I played 6 hands of my favorite Buffalo machine at $6/spin. Nada. Lost another hundred.
While walking through Binions, I spotted this couple and their dog. The dude was using the dog’s paw to push the slot machine button when I spotted them, but stopped once I got my camera out.
Back at Fremont to play my favorite Double Double Bonus / Cleopatra Keno machine. It is near the bar where people love to congregate and yell loudly to each other. People also start spilling out to sit at machines they are not playing, just to hang out. The closer these people got to me, the louder they were, the less tolerant I got.
My sole hit:
I got back to my room at 9:30 and decided to call it a day/night. Another thing about working from Vegas: Even though I am off today, I don’t feel like I am on vacation because work is just right around the corner. Literally. I will be working in a few days from California. Sigh.
