Las Vegas: Just Another Downtown Day!

Welcome to day six of this trip report!  If you are looking to start at the beginning, go HERE.

This morning begins at Fremont hotel.  I slept in late.  Which apparently now means 9:00?

Out, stopping at Dunkin Donuts, obvs.  I played some single line Ultimate X Double Double Bonus video poker and hit 3s!

I played some Cleopatra Keno after.  Cleopatra can suck it.

Over to Binions for some Buffalo Legends:

Lunch is at Binions cafe.

I played some after eating. Cleopatra Keno got me $40, which I then lost in a Buffalo slot machine.

Moolah is up next.  These Binions Moolah like giving bonuses often, but they also like giving the stupid Giant Symbols bonus.  I feel like this ruins your chances of winning.  Still…

I stop at Binions gift shop as I am using it as a supermarket to get rid of my comps here.  I started this trip with well over $300 that I will never get through.  I had to the room with various drinks and snacks at 3:00.

I take a nap and am out again at 7:00.

Passed through Binions on my way to California.  Doubled a $20 on Cleopatra Keno.

California MOOOOOOOOLAH.

There is a Double Double Bonus machine here that once dealt me Aces with a kicker.  I play this machine all the time trying to do it again.  I never do. I lost $100 trying today and never hit so much as one quad.

As I am playing, there is a ruckus going on.  Some guy is getting kicked out of the casino and keeps yelling “COME GET ME, I DARE YOU!”  It could have gone worse I suppose. But he finally exited.

There is a Buffalo machine here that I have played on every trip ever for years and years and years.  This trip though, she is missing.

I try Cleopatra Keno.  I win $40 and lose $40.

Revisiting my old love, nickel progressive Keno.  I used to play these for hours and hours and hours.  You can win a fuckton on these progressives.  But I never have.  I am finding this incredibly boring.   Max bet is 4 coins, so $.20.  I am now understanding how the fuck I used to last full trips with a budget of $200/day.   You can put a $5 bill into one of these machines and go forever.  I never should have gotten addicted to playing quarters because these machines are now beyond boring to me.  And I am missing out on a chance to win $10k on a $.20 cent bet.

I pass through Binions on my way back to Fremont.  I play my 2 favorite Buffalo slots here.  The first one sucks my dry. The second one keeps freezing.  She may be dying. I hope she doesn’t because I love her.  I keep hitting bonuses but they were so terrible.  I couldn’t win and the freezing screen is really frustrating.

Back to the Binions Buffalo Legends machine I love and someone is on it so I keep walking.

Back at Fremont, I play some Ultimate X.  Have I ever told you about how much I love hitting Aces?

I cashed out with $300.

I head back to the room.  It is 11:35.  I make an executive decision to go back down with $200.

I went to my favorite Double Double Bonus video poker / Cleopatra combo machine.  My first $20 gets me $160 on Cleopatra Keno. The other 4 $20s are gone.

I played Buffalo Legends after.  There is gum on the seat, but it is a 2 person seater so I just sit on the left of the gum. I could not get anything going here.  These machines are all faulty.  The buttons don’t work.  This is on all Buffalo Legends in every casino except Binions, where they are single seaters and the machines are less wide.

I had a very late dinner at Binions cafe at 1:00 AM.  The menu seems to have some new items on it.  I got mozzarella sticks and a burger.  It is so hot in this cafe.  Binions had pockets of frozen sections and hot sections in the casino.  I guess the cafe was in a hot section.  There were also flies everywhere.  I cannot imagine how miserable it must be to work here in these conditions.

One thing I noticed was that all the servers, save for one, were completely unfamiliar to me.  I get that every place in Vegas hired a lot of new people, but where are the old ones?   The new ones seemed to wait until you were done eating to bring the check.   Please drop it off with the food so I can get out faster.  Please.

I also noticed during this trip that I kept being sat in the left hand section, which has only happened to me once before in all my years going here.  This is not a big deal at all.  But it is interesting to me how stupid things like this are noticeable when you visit a place eleventy billion times.

Next stop: Bed.

Eleventy Billion makes me laugh every time. I do not know why. If only they had an eleventy billion button on the Buffalo machine.

If you hate working from Vegas so much why do you continue to travel there and work from there? Can’t you take a week off and then go to Vegas? What am I missing here?

This trip was supposed to be a long weekend not working, but it is just too easy to add on time because I can.

I can take a week off and go to Vegas, but I don’t like short trips and a week is too short for me.
