If you found yourself landing here and would like to start this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can go HERE.
I woke up just before 7:00 AM at Harrahs and showered, got dressed and went out for Starbucks. Fuck this fucking line, it is impossible to even consider getting on it. I walked through the casino to the other Starbucks. There is a gaggle of teenagers in front of me, because of course. This is always the sign of death because they will 100% all order Frappucinos, which will take forever.
Finally I get my coffee 25 minutes later. I sit down at a Buffalo Link. No idea why since I am a loser and should not be playing this game. But here we are.
I put in 80 to start. And here come the bonuses.
Cashed out with $500. Put another $60 in just for fun and cash out with $0.
I wanted to play the single line quarter Ultimate X / Double STP machine but there was a woman on it. Settled for quarter single line Double Double Bonus video poker. Lost $40 and tried my luck with dime Ultimate X / Double STP. In for $100, out for $300.
Now the single line machine is empty so I have to play. I sit down and accidentally spill my Starbucks all down my chest, which is normal since I am a clumsy slob. But I upped the ante today and got a fuckton of liquid inside my mask. Thankfully I had a spare, and also thankful I got oat milk so I don’t end up smelling like a rotted sow as my trip goes on.
I hit 9s but could not get up high enough to cash out a winner, so a $100 loss it is!
Room at 11:30 (I had a 1:00 check out for being Diamond) and got off on the wrong floor. Idiot.
I had wanted to get breakfast but the fucking liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine at Fulton Street was not even a thing I could consider.
Fortunately, I brought a bunch of snacks with me for working next week so I ate some almonds and attempted to watch Keno for an hour before checking out. But the television, that has been working this entire time, is suddenly no longer.
I got an Uber, making 2 stops. One to buy cigarettes at Las Vegas Paiute Smoke Shop, second to check in at Fremont. They had me in a non smoking room NO PLEASE but were able to find me a king bed smoking room. Whew.
I am in room 1014, which is the highest floor I have ever been on. I would imagine they moved the smoking floors up during the renovation. And the renovation! This room looks fantastic. It took me a bit to figure out HOW did they have extra space. Then I realized that ginormous air conditioner / heater is gone. So are the wooden blinds. And that fucking stupid invisible step to get to the safe.
They also have these hooks on the wall if you are like me and wear the same clothes over and over. You no longer have to walk all the way like 5 feet to a chair to hang them on. You can hang them right at the bed.
I am here for an event, which is taking place on Tuesday at 1:00, during an important work meeting. I wonder if I can somehow manage to do both? Fuck me for being a luddite who cannot manage calling into meeting on my phone. The event is at California, which I had considered staying at. But Dunkin Donuts when waking up for work at 5:00 AM won out.
It is 1:31. I am so exhausted but I must stay awake because I have to be up at 5:00 AM.
I went down to play. I found one of those single line Ultimate X / SuperTimes Pay machine. Unlike Harrahs, this one did not also have Double SuperTimes Pay. I lost $200 but got quite a lot of play in.
Normal Ultimate X:
Next up is Buffalo Deluxe. I went to load my free play and you can now transfer cash FROM the machine to your card? Not sure what this is about, I did not go through with it.
I had $40 and decided to max bet it. Great decision. Some woman walked by at some point and told me “I hope you get the bonus!” Me too.
I turned the free play into $100 and put a $100 bill in – I know this makes no sense but it stops me from losing the won $100 and then my $100 bill. I was here forever and ever. I was so exhausted and starving, could not keep my eyes open. I finally cashed out with $200.
I need to eat, I still haven’t had an actual meal yet today and it is 4:00. I grabbed McDonalds, despite having over $1000 in comps down here. Because TOO TIRED to eat at a restaurant. The best / worst is that I need to stay up until at least 7:00 or I will wake up too early. But not sure if I can stay up? Oh wait, yes I can because live music is back on Fremont Street and my room is vibrating.
I do realize that for the past 2 years, I haven’t had any issues with sound. But I cannot remember any time before the past 2 years where sound was an issue for me at Fremont? I am up on a higher floor than I have ever had before and I am facing Binions. Why is the sound of the band so fucking loud???
God dammit I really regret not staying at California now.
Oh well. Good night Las Vegas.
