Las Vegas Travel Blog: Yes I Just Gambled All Day and All Night

Las Vegas trip report day two!

I am awake at California hotel at 9:00 am. This is not on purpose as I had planned to sleep forever.  But ya know…Vegas.

I shower and get dressed.  Call down to the Market Street Cafe for reservations and am told they can take me in 5 minutes. Excellent.

The sun looks bizarre today:
I order a cheese omelet and it comes with ham.  I didn’t order or want ham.  But I am so anxious to be here and get started that I say nothing.

Charged the food to my room to use the dining credit that came with my offer, so it is “free” anyway.

This machine is right outside the cafe.
I always see it in the background at Fremont and have been tempted to play it so today is the day.  I do that thing where I put too much money in because I want to see the fucking bonus.  Finally it hits and I cash out even.

I then lose $120 in Buffalo.

Over to Dunkin Donuts for a large iced coffee mmmm.  I need this Christmas tree in my apartment.

Back at California, I try a new to me machine, in the hopes of producing a trip report that has more than just video poker and Buffalo photos.

I didn’t win so I moved to my favorite Double Double Bonus video poker machine at California.   This baby dealt with Aces with a Kicker a million years ago and I have never forgotten that.

I had an extra 3 quarters from my cash out of that shitty slot machine, so I played 3 credits to get it off.  Whoops, always play max bet?

I am actually okay with this because there is absolutely nothing to guarantee I would have hit the same hand at max bet, and I could really use this win right now.

I could also use this one too!
I ended up switching machines and WOO HOO.
I should not be playing dollar video poker, but here we are.

I head to the room. It is 1:00 to make a deposit.  Housekeeping had come in and cleaned my room even though I said at check in that I did not want housekeeping.  I would have been less of a slob if I had known the poor housekeeper was going to come in.   She was in the room across from mine so I called to her to hand her a tip.

Next up – Jerry’s Nugget.  I have $10 free play from Las Vegas Advisor and $10 free play from American Casino Guide.  I opted to take an Uber because Covid has made me a lazy slob.

I went to get my free play loaded on my card, intending to buy a super large water in the gift shop.  They do not have super large waters.  I ended up with a V8 drink that I carried with me for the next week or 2 before throwing it out.

I cannot win in this casino.  This is so terrible.  I had wanted to eat at their coffee shop, that has rave reviews but by the time it came time to eat, I was so disgusted with my losses that I just wanted to be gone.

I lost $100 plus the free play in a Buffalo Diamond slot machine.  Then $80 in a Phone Tag slot machine.  I might have kept my vow to never come here again after the last losing trip, had I not seen someone post a photo that had a Phone Tag slot machine in it.  I haven’t played this game in years and I loved it so much.

I tried some quarter Double Double Bonus video poker and lost $60.

Time to go!

I ordered and Uber and sat outside waiting.  This place looks so pretty outside.
My Uber ride, yeargh.  It was terrible.  The driver starts telling me that he has to get his car fixed because he…hit two HUSKIES yesterday and he isn’t even sure if they are alive.  Right then and there I want to open the car door and run outside screaming.

Then he changed the subject to Bill Gates trying to inject tracking software into people’s arms with the vaccine.  This was by far the all time worst Uber ride I have ever had.  All he had to do was be quiet, say nothing.  But nope.

I took the Uber to Downtown Grand to use some free play here.  Hit Kings.
Lost $20 trying for a second four of a kind, and then lose another $20 in Cleopatra Keno.

I have put enough points on my card to use both the Las Vegas Advisor and American Casino Guide coupons for $20 more free play.

I am playing at the bar and some dick bag sits next to me, mask on his chin.  It is empty in here, there are plenty of other seats.  So I move and am rewarded with this:
I head to Dunkin Donuts at Fremont from here.  I don’t recall ever seeing the Fremont Christmas tree lit up this year.  Maybe I just passed it at odd times.
I had gotten 2 coffees at Dunkin Donuts.  One for now, one to keep in my room refrigerator for tomorrow.  Pro tip:  This works really good if you bring hot coffee for the refrigerator.  It doesn’t get watered down and you have cold coffee the next morning.

I asked for a carrier and am told I need to buy 3 coffees to get one and as I am about to agree to do this, because as we all know, I can certainly handle 3 coffees, she tells me don’t worry about it.

I had to the room to drop off the extra coffee.  I ended up play Ultimate X Bonus Streak at California.  I should never play this.  It is really terrible.  Unfortunately, I actually won $60 so I am sure I will play it again because I just never learn.

Up next is Binions.  I have $40 free play here.  My notes say I turned $100 into $220, but I don’t have a photo of that.

I have earned enough points for a $10 dining credit with their promo so I use that for a Binions Burger. I also discovered the deli is open overnight, so I could have eaten here last night.  Oh well.

On the way out, I lost that $220 win on the same machine I won it on.  Because big fat LOSER.

I am in the room at 11:30, in bed at 1:30.
