If you somehow ended up here and would like to start reading this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can go HERE.
I woke up at Four Queens at 4:30 AM. Shower and out to Dunkin Donuts. Lost some money around Fremont. Would be losing money to earn my keep at Four Queens, but more than half the casino is still blocked off while they replace their carpeting.
Normally the incidental hold on comped rooms at Four Queens is $20. They have a hold on my credit card for $201.70, which makes me think I am going to have issues at checkout because it looks like they are charging me for the room.
I went to get breakfast at McDonalds because it is the easiest thing to grab before work. Well today is was the opposite. All the credit card readers are down so you have to pay in cash. But the cash part is down too. The poor cashier has to add up totals manually and figure out change manually. She has to keep going in the back to get change. I don’t know why they didn’t pull the drink guy to help, he was just standing around as the orders were going through insanely slow due to the paying issue. But I don’t manage McDonalds so I am sure there are reasonings I am unaware of.
After about half an hour of waiting for my food, they announce they do not have anything other than pancakes. They keep going about their business and I had to go and ask if I was going to get my food – was it being cooked before the pancake announcement? I am told the grill is warming up. No idea what is going on but I saw people getting food half an hour ago? So I get a refund and go to work in my room. I am starving and have back to back to back to back meetings for six hours.
Check out was surprisingly easy, she agreed the incidental hold was wonky and gave me a room receipt showing $0.
Moved to Fremont. When I walked up to the registration desk, the woman smiled at me and said “Welcome back!” My favorite hotel just got more favorite.
I regret not asking for room 1032 that I had last week, but got room 1031. I loved 1032. Today’s room smells when you first walk in. But it doesn’t smell inside the room. Also notable – I tried to open room 1032 several times during this stay on accident.
No room photos, but room view:
Down to gamble even though I am “at” work. Lost $260. Wanted to play Dancing Drums and it was empty. But when I went to get Dunkin Donuts, a couple sat at it. Mother FUCKER. This fucking casino.
Back at work until 4:30 EST and then I am logging off because done with everything today.
Down to play Dancing Drums:
Walked over to Four Queens for another avocado club. These things are so freaking good.
Still can’t play anything in the Four Queens casino because of the carpet replacement. This is so fucking frustrating. I had the carpet in my apartment replaced and it was done in one day. Obviously the casino is much bigger than my NYC apartment. But shouldn’t at least some parts of the casino be done by now?
Even though it is only 5:00, I have won $1000 and am okay with calling it a night. One thing I do not like about going to bed so early is that I can’t sleep with the shades open to let the sun wake me up. Because the sun is still up as I am going to bed.
