Las Vegas: Broken Machines Like Whoa

If you have somehow landed on this page and would like to read this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can go HERE.I am awake at The D at 4:00 AM.  Back in the old days before Covid, I would have skipped to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks and enjoyed having the casino all to myself.  Now though, neither are open at 4:00 AM so I dick around the room for a bit before heading outside.

These guys scared the living daylights out of me when I opened the curtains.
I lost $100 in my favorite Cleopatra Keno / Double Double Bonus video poker machine at The Long Bar.

Played some Buffalo Revolution, which I avoid like the plague since I have never won on this game.  I broke the spell!
I then played the Buffalo game that I keep calling “Monopoly” for some reason, that I can only find at Paris, Bellagio, Plaza and The D.  I did not win.

I grab breakfast and head to the room at 9:00 AM.

I go back out and play some Ultimate X video poker.  I don’t like these machines at The D but I discover they have single line quarter Ultimate X.  People ask me about this – this is what the machines look like:
I don’t win on here so I try other machines.
Up to the room for a nap.  Back out and redeem my free play from the Las Vegas Advisor coupon on the super speedy Cleopatra Keno machine I discovered yesterday.  Turn that into $40.

Even though I am still booked at The D, I am checking into Fremont tonight.  I walk over and do that.  I am glad I did because I got the last smoking room available.

Then I head to California to play.  I often notice that there isn’t much for me to play at Fremont.  There is an Ultimate X machine that I used to think was friendly before I found MY machine at Cosmopolitan and now I realize the Fremont one is giving me fake smiles.

There is MY Cleopatra Keno / Double Double Bonus combo machine, but she is always broken.

There used to be a nice Buffalo machine but I have not won on her on my past 893432743874 trips so I dumped her ass.

That pretty much leaves me playing at California to earn my Fremont keep.

I lost at California and went to Plaza.  I had a pretty terrible room here on my last stay here and adding insult to injury, they charge resort fees on comped rooms.  I don’t visit here often because it is a waste since earning comps = earning comps for rooms I do not want.  But the casino has been nice to me before so why not stop by and say hello every now and then.

I realized I left my Las Vegas Advisor coupon book with a $10 free play coupon in the room so I decided to just play cash.  I played some Cleopatra Keno here and lost.  Oh well.

Over to Golden Gate.  Another casino that is often friendly to me that I never wish to stay at ever again.  I play a new version of Texas Tea here.
I play some video poker next.

Then back to Binions where I play Texas Tea again.
I go back to The D where I am still checked into, even though I have moved to Fremont.  I play a bit here to keep my offers coming.  I used to get 3 night offers, then I got nothing for a couple of years.  I am back to 2 nights.  I want to get back up to 3.  2 night stays are no longer viable for me.  Especially at The D where they enforce the 3:00 check in.

I don’t win anything so I head back to Fremont where I find they now have single line Ultimate X video poker.

My Cleopatra Keno / Double Double Bonus machine is fixed.   I play $20 at a time and cash out every time I double it.  My first cashout kills her again.  WHY.
I have this random photo that I am not sure where the hell it was taken because it is not in my notes.
