Las Vegas Trip Report: The Only Constant is Every Trip Must End

Yet another “last day I am going home today waaaaaahhhhhhh” day in Las Vegas.

I wake up at Cosmopolitan at 7:00 AM.  I am supposed to go back to Luxor for my massage but I don’t want to.  I don’t.  I don’t want to, can’t make me.  I call and cancel and tell them they can charge it to my room since I have resort credit to cover it.  They seemed to feel bad for me that their policy is to charge for it if you are a no show.  It is fiiiiiiiine, just charge it.  Let me off the phone.  Bye bye.

I decided to walk through the casino to get to Starbucks rather than through the 3894873 mile walkway from the Chelsea Tower.  I played along the way, losing money.

Armed with coffee, I head back to MY Ultimate X video poker machine.  What a run I had.

I cashed out with ELEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Went to District Donuts for breakfast again and walked the 398483274893 miles to my room in the Chelsea Tower. I am never staying in this fucking tower again.

Nap time!

When I woke up, I went out to the balcony to smoke and the fucking balcony was burning so bad I checked my feet for blisters.    This was not enjoyable at all.  I wonder if this happens on the fountain side?  This is the second time I had a burning hot balcony on the Aria view side.

I go down to my Ultimate X video poker machine and she pays me again!

Dinner is at Holsteins just because I want to try eating at places I haven’t eaten before.  I get into such patterns in Vegas and I need to break it up.

I also want to say that every restaurant I have gotten iced tea at inside Cosmopolitan has the most delicious iced tea ever.  It is always more memorable than the food.

My notes continue on the very last page of my notebook.  These things used to last me for years. I have completely filled this one in 7 months with the amount of time I have spent in Vegas during Covid.  Whoops?

I get Starbucks and walk to Bellagio to use my MyKonami free play.

I lost $300 in Buffalo. So sad.

I lost another $200 in Cleopatra Keno.  So sadder.

Back to Cosmopolitan for 2 last losing sessions, on Ultimate X and Buffalo.

It is time to go to the airport and head home.  So saddest ever.

I did hit Jacks in the little smoking room though.

This trip was in May of 2021 and a few days after I got home, the mask mandate was lifted.  It was then put back in effect on July 30, which so happens to be the start date of my next trip.   Yes, I have another trip report coming!  And then another!  I also still have one from 2020 I never finished.

I am going to try and get the next one up THIS WEEK because on Thursday, I am leaving for a 10 week trip to Eurasia and if I do somehow manage to be an amazing travel blogger during this trip, I would imagine I would be focusing on current things such as Azerbaijan and not Vegas. We shall see.

Thanks for reading!

Loved this report – always love your travel reports – so much fun to read…. glad it turned from a losing trip to a winning one…I do wonder why you didn’t just check out of the Plaza and move somewhere else instead of hating every minute of that hot room. Oh and the false eye lashes in Cosmo – give me a break, that’s disgusting and shows someone did change a towel –ewe….Hope you have time to post another LV trip before you go on your Eurasia trip – although I look forward to reading about that trip…Stay safe and have fun!!

I think if I were going to do anything about the Plaza room, I would have just asked for a new one. I am not sure why I didn’t?

I am sitting here right now trying to get one full trip report done today. I have two that are half done. I don’t know why I am like this.

I have missed seeing your trip reports! I haven’t been to Vegas in so long I wouldn’t recognize it but I love your commentary on what has changed. There was a time I thought I would always go there – and I did for 30 years – and now I can’t think about going back! But your trip reports bring me back to when the “walk of shame” meant going to the ATM ! Thanks for doing these.

Thanks Kathy! I am so good at the walk of shame, unfortunately. Vegas has changed so much and it is frustrating. I do have another trip planned in June and I am not even sure why. I can see my offers morphing and it is difficult to get a weekend comp.

    Jennifer,
Love the report. I check all the time for updates. Turned my wife to your site and she loves it too. We also love playing at Fremont too. Have only stayed there once, several years ago. We are going in June and staying at Orleans, hope we do as good there.

Hope you have another trip report in the bag to give us soon.

    Thanks again

If you don’t post another fuckety fucking trip report before you go to Eurasia, you are dead to me, you loser and I hope you have lousy hotels with false eyelashes all over the bedsheets and that your Buffalo machines never pay off and that all the pennies you see are tails up and that Starbucks and Dunkin’ go out of business.

Ok, that was harsh, let me try again. Please post another trip report, I love them and I live for them!

LOL this is the all time greatest comment I have gotten on a blog post! Unfortunately I am reading it in Azerbaijan. Crossed fingers Dunkin Donuts is spared….

I really should have a new trip report up soon, she says for the dozenth time, but she means it every time. She is just horrible.

As per usual, I’m really behind on my online reading, but so glad I caught wind of this report. As always, such a fun read and funny as all heck. Sometimes I think the simplest things are the best. Your question to the lady with her things in your slot seat, “Is that your shit?”, is just priceless.

I know you are travelling now and I hope that trip is going just great. You mentioned maybe being in Vegas in June. As luck would have it, I’ll be there too. I know how private you are, and I can respect that, but it would be something else to say hi to you in person. Maybe some day. All the best to you and take care on all your travels.
