Las Vegas: The Day it Stormed

LAS VEGAS!  I am awake at 7:00 at the California hotel Downtown.  I want to go back to bed but I am going home tomorrow so I need to soak up every last second here.

Breakfast was at Binions using their app.  I had a feeling that they were going to remove rewards from their app and they did shortly after I got home.  I still have five more rewards to claim, I will do that THIS WEEK because as I am typing this, I AM GOING BACK THIS WEEK MOTHER FUCKERS.

I stop at Dunkin Donuts for iced coffee and head over to The D.  I lost $100 on a Cleopatra Keno / video poker combo.  Another $100 on Buffalo.  Another $100 on a Dragon Link and $100 on Keno.  I am doing great.

Las Vegas: That Time I Possibly Sat in Pee

I am awake at 9:00 at the Bellagio hotel with my beautiful fountain view.   I don’t want to get out of bed because it is too comfortable.  I do have to get out of bed because nicotine fit.

On the way to breakfast, I lost $40 in Buffalo.  I hate that.  Not just because I lost, but because I have been having such a great run that I would hate to spend my last few days losing all my winnings.  Which would not be possible if I would stick to my budget.  But degenerate.

Breakfast was at Sadelle’s.  I confess, I don’t like this place.  I ate here back in December and my food smelled weird.  But I am going to try again because (a) I have dining credit with my offer and (b) people LOVE this place so maybe it was just a one off.

I place my order, the server says something to me that I don’t quite get and do that thing I do when I don’t understand people and just smile and nod.   As he is walking away, I realized he had asked me if I want a side of hash browns, which I didn’t.  But since I said yes…and that put me over my dining credit.

I get my coffee, but no spoon.  It took quite awhile to flag down my server for one.   The food was okay, but I don’t seem to have taken a photo.

I took some photos of the conservatory without actually entering it.  There is a long line to do so and I didn’t want to wait on it. Continue reading

Las Vegas: Bellagio Fountain View Room

Las Vegas!  I wake up at Flamingo on day 13 at 6:30 am.

I grab some iced coffee at Starbucks, obviously, and head to my Buffalo slot machine, even more obviously.   Holy shit, she is not taking bills.   NOOOOOOOOO.   I hit every service button in the bank and someone came to  help me.   WHEW.

I bid her goodbye.  As much as I would love to keep traveling back here to see her, we all know how that goes.  I am honestly surprised she lasted so long as a winning machine.

One last shot at the Flamingo Buffalo went well too. Continue reading

Las Vegas: A Winning But Boring Day

Las Vegas, day fucking 12 of this trip.  I don’t like how fast this is going.

I am up at noon. I have a couple of work meetings today, even though I am on vacation.   I hate that.

Once I am done, I Uber to Wynn for no real reason other than I need to stop going back and forth between my room and my Buffalo machine.  I haven’t even played one penny at Flamingo during this stay.

Las Vegas: BuffaWHOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA

Las Vegas day 10, waking up at Treasure Island.   It is 7:00 am, I am out by 9:00.

I walk over to Mirage to use my dining credit for breakfast.   The wait for The Pantry is 2 hours.  I call the front desk and ask for a late check out and am told “sure!” but fortunately, I got a text saying if I want to sit at the bar, they can get me in now.  Yes please!

Breakfast with a view:

Las Vegas: The One With The Awful Room View

Day nine is here!  I wake up at El Cortez in Downtown Las Vegas at 6:30 am.  The next thing I wrote was “should have gone right back to bed.”

My shampoo opened in my bag and that sucked.  Not so much because shampoo is now all over all my toiletries, although that sucked too. But because I use fancy expensive shampoo to try and keep the hair dye in my hair, which is getting more impossible the greyer it gets.  Now I have to go buy some, but I don’t want to.   What I do want to do is whine.

I went outside to smoke and check my email.  It is time to check into Flamingo.   Except I accidentally booked a nonsmoking room.  NO.  So I cancel that and rebook but there are no smoking rooms today.  That’s okay because I was triple booked anyway.  So I rebook Flamingo for tomorrow and go about checking into Treasure Island and Mirage today.

Why was I triple booked?  Here is why:

I originally booked a semi-suite at Flamingo, which does not normally come up for me.  Then I got an offer from Treasure Island that came with $100 free play – sign me up!  I didn’t want to rebook Flamingo in case I lost the room type.  My Flamingo reservation was for four nights, Treasure Island was for 2.   Then just for the hell of it, I booked a Mirage offer for that came with $25 resort credit and $65 free play.  I have no intention of staying at Mirage because no smoking rooms.  But I want the freebies.  I am totally fine with burning MLife offers.  The resort fees alone are fucking ridiculous and my freebies will likely go away once the world goes back to normal, so why not. Las Vegas: That Time I Found A New Favorite Machine at Fremont

Las Vegas day six starts out at Fremont Hotel in beautiful Downtown Las Vegas.  I can never talk enough about how much I love waking up here.  It just feels so good.  Looking out the window, seeing Vegas.  Knowing how quiet it is.  Thinking of all the people who are just crawling to bed after having a winning night.  Fate moving around invisibly to possibly smile on me today.  And then the iced coffee shortly in my future…

I am up at 7:30 and out at 8:30.

I lost $100 on Ultimate X video poker and then switched to Supertimes Pay video poker.  I put in a $100 bill and went down and then back up before cashing out at $100.  Sometimes wins like this feel better than an actual win.  I love being saved.

I grab McDonalds for breakfast and am back in my room at 10:10 for a nap.

When I wake up again, I walk over to The D.  I don’t know why I love playing here since points are shorted and I don’t even drink alcohol to make up for it.  Thanks to Covid, every other machine at Long Bar is shut off.   This unfortunately includes the machine that gave me Aces with a Kicker twice back in December, both times holding only one Ace.  I sit next to her and pet her a bit before playing.

I hit for 7/9 on Cleopatra Keno for $100.
