Yet Another New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas

If you have somehow landed on this page and would like to read this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can go HERE.

New Year’s Eve starts at Fremont hotel at 4:00 AM because I never went to bed last night.  I realized that I never used up my Flexibile Spending Account for 2021 so today is the last day.  I pulled out my laptop and cross referenced between the FSA store and Target to order about $300 worth of stuff I definitely don’t need, but I will lose the funds if I do not purchase today.

I am out at 5:00 AM with the goal of heading to Cosmopolitan.  I wait at the bus stop in the dark and a Deuce never comes.  A guy happens to pass with his 2 adorable dogs.   He doesn’t try to murder me, but he does try to talk to me.  I hated it.  He is a gambler and was talking about all  his wins and asking me about mine.  I am not really answering anything because I am on a dark street in the dark, all alone and isolated with this man who could rob and murder me without anyone seeing.

A few buses pass, no Deuce.  I finally hop on the next bus that comes and decide to just wait for the Deuce at Bonneville. The Deuce comes about 10 seconds after I get there.  It is the homeless express. It smells like the NYC subway.  I no longer commute to work so this smell takes me back.  I don’t miss it.

I arrive at Cosmopolitan just before 6:00 AM and run to Starbucks where there is a very long line.  Please, help.

I played MY Ultimate X video poker machine.  I love her so much.
What a great fucking run!

I lost $300 on my way out, on slots.

Over to Aria where I am determined to use up some of my resort credit as I am still checked into Excalibur.

I played Dancing Drums.  BONUS!   I got to close the lid during the bonus.  I wasn’t too familiar with this game at this point of time so I was shocked when I got an extra bonus pick when closing the lid.
I stopped at Aria Patisserie to grab some stuff to go for room snacking tonight since the last thing on Earth I plan to do is being outside on New Year’s Eve, on Fremont Street, on a Friday night, on the year the Fremont Street party returns after being cancelled last year because of Covid.

I walked outside to go to Target and when I passed the bird chairs, there was a penny on heads on one of them!  Put that right in my bra.

At Target, I got some drinks and snacks and then took the Deuce back downtown to Fremont.

Got Dunkin Donuts and went to the room to drop everything off.  The line for Dunkin Donuts was so long and crazy so I made sure to get three coffees so I didn’t have to deal with this again today or tonight.

In the room, I ate some of my snacks and went to bed for the first time since 2 nights ago.  I don’t know how this happened.

I wake up around 7:00 PM and go and play games YAY.  I don’t have a wristband for Fremont Street so I had to walk around off Fremont.

Went to Binions for dinner. It was kind of crazy, but not too bad.

Afterwards I played Buffalo.  Someone offered me a TITO for five cents for a cigarette.  Nope.

From here I walked over to California.  I played some Dancing Drums.
Over to Main Street Station for some Ultimate X video poker.

But let’s not stop there….

Holy crap, $800!

I am rich so let’s play dollars!
Walked back to California and played Buffalo Legends.

I played some at Binions and lost.

Then back to Fremont where it is almost midnight.  I played some Dancing Drums, which at the time, were located near the Fremont Street exit.  It was chaotic.
As I am walking to my room, it is 11:56 and a gaggle of revelers are all screaming “FOUR MINUTES” while running.  One slams right into me and gives me a TITO for 29 cents as an apology.  The walk from these machines to the room elevators is not very long yet there was so much fucking OMG NEW YEARS EVE people just screaming and running and not looking where they were going.  A second person smashes into me and I scream “FOUR MINUTES” in his mother fucking face for absolutely no reason at all.

The clock strikes midnight as I am in the elevator on my way back to my room.

I watched the fireworks from my room.

I dropped off a lot of cash because I am rich and went back out.

I lost $140 and that’s all I brought so I guess I am going to bed!  Good night and happy 2022!  May the planet open for tourism this year because I have got to get on a plane to another continent.

Spoiler alert: Since writing that, it has and I have since traveled outside America.
