Las Vegas: A Day of Nice Wins!

If you somehow landed on this page and would like to start reading this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, go HERE.

I am awake at Cosmopolitan at 8:00 AM this morning.  I always sleep with the curtains open, but the sheers closed.  The thought is that sunrise will gently wake me up, but I slept through the entire thing.

I picked up where I left off last night on Buffalo.

Las Vegas: I Love Cosmopolitan and Ultimate X and Buffalo

I am barely awake when I wake up at Wynn today.  I know this makes no sense but that is how tired I am.

As it is moving day and I am completely exhausted, I did the world’s quickest pack of my stuff, and had the world’s worst pack.  A great pack is when everything fits perfectly.  A bad pack is when you are just shoving shit in the bag as fast as  you can to get OUT OF HERE.

I called the Bell Desk to have my bag picked up and stored as I want to have one last breakfast here.  I had originally wanted to eat breakfast at all three: Jardin, Terrace Point Cafe and Tableau, but decided to just do Jardin a second time.  I am not sure what my logic was.

I had a reservation, which you really needed on this trip.   My reservation is at 12:30.  I take a table outside just because it is available.  Once again, breakfast is great.  My server was so nice but she could not figure out how to use my comps for my meal.  She kept telling me there was no money on my card.  Yes, there is.  Because Wynn excels at customer service, instead of arguing with me, she offers to call the Red Card booth for me and I say okay and prepare myself to just pay for the meal.  She returns and apologizes, she had been ringing it through incorrectly and it turns out I do have comps to cover it.  No problem at all.  You are so nice and probably new.

I played some Cleopatra Keno before eating and lost. These machines at Wynn are Satan.  Sometimes they pay big, sometimes they do not.  I haven’t gotten on a winning streak during my trip here.  Granted, I also barely played here since my room was booked through the Wynn app so I don’t owe Wynn a thing.

Well after eating I tried again and hit 7 out of 9 balls for a $100 win.  YAY.

Las Vegas: Hair Spa and Foraging For Food

If you somehow landed on this page and would like to go to the beginning of this Las Vegas trip report, go HERE.

I ended up sleeping 12 hours in my marshmallow bed at Wynn, save for the times I got  up and tried to get the fucking air conditioner on.  I seem to always have issues with temperature control at Wynn.  For such a fancy hotel, you would not expect this to be an issue.

I am still tired but must go on. Get up. Be strong.  You can do this. You can be in Las Vegas.  GO.

I had wanted to go to Resorts World, where I am still checked in, to use my dining credit.  But I am starving and don’t want to risk that any restaurant I believe will be open, is actually not.  So I make a reservation at Jardin.

I played at Encore to kill time before my reservation.  Of course, someone is on the machine I love.  I lose some money and then it is time to eat.

After breakfast, I took an Uber to Soulo Hair Spa for a shampoo and scalp treatment.  It is located in a shopping mall with Big Wong.

Las Vegas: Fruit Plate, Buffalo and Checking Into Resorts World

If you have somehow landed on this page of this Las Vegas trip report and would like to start at the beginning, go HERE.

Good morning from Wynn!  I slept until 8:00 AM and was out by 9:30 AM.  Either I am getting older and slower, or the internet is so much more fascinating that it keeps me from getting out quicker.

Morning room view:
Breakfast is at Terrace Point Cafe. Wynn has three actual restaurtant options for breakfast, which is absolutely unheard of at any other property.  There is also the buffet, the cafe and Urth Cafe in addition to the three restaurants.  I can almost understand never leaving this propery, although that makes me feel like a denegerate loser who never even goes outside.

I love the fruit plates.  I wish the rooms had a refergerator so I could get one to go every time.

Las Vegas: Good Bye Linq, Hello Wynn!

If you somehow landed here and would like to start at the beginning of this Las Vegas trip report, you can do so HERE.

Housekeeping knock on the door of my room at Linq at 9:30 AM.  I have a 1:00 check out.  She comes knocking again at 10:30.  I am growing furious.  Could you…not?   I even pointed out the Do Not Disturb sign.  Please do not disturb.

I went down to get breakfast, stopping obviously at my gorgeous Buffalo slot machine.  Last chance to give me money because I am checking out today!  I love this machine so much.  I really do.

Las Vegas: Buffalo, Spaaah, O and Degenerate

If you have landed on this page and would like to read this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can click HERE.

Woke up this morning at Linq.  I slept for nine hours last night, cannot get out of bed.   At all.  So tired.  ZZZZZZZZZZ.  Today is my last day working in Las Vegas during this trip.  I could not be more fucking happy.

I grabbed breakfast at Nook, which is a really little nothing place to grab and go.  I like that they have LARGE iced coffees and are right by the room elevators. This morning, the cash register is not working.  Like just not.  The nice woman said “I guess it is free!” and now it was.  Fun fact:  If you are a customer who says “I guess it is free!” when something does not scan, the cashier is in their right to murder you with their eyes.  But if the cashier says it is free…then you are a winner.

I could not wait for my work day to end because I am just done.  DONE.  My vacation starts the second I close my laptop today.  I am free.  I am ready.  I even scheduled a nap during my work day.

I feel like before I left for Vegas, I have such visions of my trip and how I will be outside and free and going crazy and YAY.  I pictured me bouncing all around on the Vegas Strip, overflowing with excited energy Vegas YAY!

As such, I planned tonight as if I would be bouncing off the walls with excitement.  I booked not only a facial treatment after work today, but I also purchased a ticket to see O.  The more my work day went on, the more I just wanted to log off and go to bed and start my vacation fresh tomorrow.  I think part of this is less physical exhaustion and more mental exhaustion from work.

After work, I had a profitable Buffalo run! Continue reading

Las Vegas: I Love Chain Restaurants

Another day working from my hotel room in Las Vegas.  Linq morning room view.  I believe this room is considered Strip view because of the postage stamp sized view of Caesars.  I really miss the balconies.  It would be so great to open the balcony door and inhale the pigeon poop these balconies were always covered in.  Okay maybe I see why they removed them.  Also I don’t know that I have ever seen a flock of pigeons in Vegas?  Yet the balconies were coated in pigeon poop.

Las Vegas Trip Report: Buffalo Legends!

If you somehow landed on this post and want to read this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can go HERE.

Barely woke up at Fremont today.  I am the most exhausted I have been this entire trip and I have been completely exhausted this entire trip.  I am moving hotels tonight, to Linq, so I will finally be able to sleep wtthout the Fremont Street bands keeping me up.

I did a mobile order for Dunkin Donuts.  This is my new favorite thing.  Don’t go wait on the line, just go and grab your stuff YAY.

The fire alarm went off in my hotel room during work again.  YAY.  I just flat out ignored it this time.

After work, I made a beeline to Dunkin Donuts and then over to California to beat this fucking Buffalo Legends machine.  Holy shit.  I was there for hours.  I could not stop.  I got some nice bonuses but refused to cash out until I got the Legends progressive bonus.  I kept telling myself to fucking STOP IT.  You are going to finally get it and only win $20.  But I was on a fucking mission.

Here is what the bonus looks like:

Somehow, I am awake without an alarm at 4:30 AM at the Fremont hotel.   Not sure how since I barely got any sleep because of the band playing on Fremont.  I cannot wait to get away from it.

Beautiful sunrise.  I love Las Vegas in the winter when there is snow in the background.

I went downstairs for iced coffee.  I wanted to play MY Cleopatra Keno machine but they are emptying the bill thingies so Buffalo it is.  I lost $100, then won $100 and decided to go back to Cleo.  Mother fucker.  She is not feeling well.

Las Vegas Blog: Live Music is Killing Me

If you have landed here and would like to read this Las Vegas trip report from the beginning, you can go HERE.

Up at 5:00 AM at Fremont, after a horrible night’s sleep.  Live bands are back on Fremont, which I had not considered when booking this hotel to work from.  The music went until 1:00 AM, and I have to be up at 5:00 AM for work.  They will do that again every night this week.  My bed was vibrating.   I have stayed at Fremont a million times in my life but I have only worked from here during Covid.  The bands were not playing prior to this trip because of Covid restrictions so I was not expecting this.  I also honestly don’t remember this ever being an issue before Covid?  Am I just that much older that the music is that much louder? I am going to suffer.

I spent way too much time trying to get the lighting in my room to make me not look like a blurry ghost on a morning video call with all of Leadership at work.  I wasn’t too successful.  Oh well?

I did like being up in time to see the sunrise.  I cannot say enough times how much I love sunrise in Las Vegas.  That feeling of a fresh, new day.  The idea that anything can happen.   Those first early morning steps in a quiet casino.  The knowledge that if you  have a heart attack from winning a million dollars, the paramedics will be able to reach you easier while the casino is still empty. Eye on the prize mother fucker!
